My Profile

So, a little about me too. Yes, those six kids in the Pluto photo are all mine, plus our Japanese exchange student. (We hosted 21 foreign exchange students in 11 years!) Ever since I was young I've loved learning about different countries and cultures. And I was definitely a Disney devotee. (You can read about that here.) During high school and college I'd often bring foreign students home for holiday breaks. Eventually, I traversed the Pacific Islands doing missionary work, then married a charming Lieutenant Commander in the Navy.

We've raised our children on the Golden Rule of loving God above all and our neighbor as ourselves. This translated into opening our home to foreign high schoolers mentioned above, mostly from Thailand but also Japan and Spain. (You can read about that here.) In turn, our children travelled to these countries, plus other European nations. My kids are all grown up now finishing college and starting families of their own, but we still get together for quality vacation time. 

And I can't wait to share the love of travel with you too!
